African Adventure Tours is licensed by The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Trade and Industry Minister Business license No. 565/99.

Minimum Participants:
All our tours start with a minimum of two people. If there are not enough people to run the trip, it will be canceled 21 days prior to departure with the option:

  • To run the trip individually with an additional cost
  • To join the trip on another date
  • A new destination or tour will be proposed
  • Deposit refunded in full

Booking:
Your booking will be valid with the confirmation of African Adventure Tours. The confirmation can be made by fax, e-mail, letter or telephone.

Contract:
The content of the contract resulting in the booking of the traveler and the confirmation of African Adventure Tours will include the tour itinerary and all the promised features.

International flights:
Are the responsibility of the traveler, are not part of the contract and are not included in the tour cost. The traveler is responsible for their flights to and from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, if not communicated otherwise. They must also meet all necessary visa and entry requirements. On request, African Adventure Tours can make the booking of the international flights.

Domestic flights:
All our domestic flights are with Ethiopian Airlines who offers big discounts to travelers if the international flight to and from Addis Ababa are also with them.The price of the domestic flights is listed separately, can vary slightly and is to be paid in addition to the tour cost on the account of African Adventure Tours in Addis Ababa. African Adventure Tours will handle the reservation and booking of the domestic flights.

Deposit / Payment:
At the time of confirmation, a deposit of 25% of the total tour cost is requested. The payment has to be done by bank transfer to African Adventure Tours’ account in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia or to the Australian Office in Sydney. The remaining amount of the tour cost shall be paid, according to prior arrangements, either 30 days before the tour starts (to African Adventure Tours’ account in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) or in cash upon arrival.Bank details will be provided by email or fax upon the confirmation of the trip. If the required number of participants to run a tour is not reached and the tour is cancelled, the deposit will be paid back in full.

African Adventure Tours is not indebted to conduct the tour if full payment has not been received prior to the tours commencement.

Changes of reservation and cancellation before departure:
Changes to the reservation, travel date or destination are permitted up to one month prior to departure without any surcharge, on condition that the required tour is available. If additional costs occur, like seasonal price differences at hotels, domestic flights, etc. the traveler has to pay them. Before departure the traveler can ask that somebody else take their place on the tour. The traveler and this third person are both responsible for the payment of the tour cost and any arising additional costs. If the traveler cancels the tour before departure, a withdrawal compensation is payable:

  • Cancellation of confirmed bookings received more than 30 days prior to departure are subject to a cancellation fee of 150 US $ per person.
  • Cancellation received between 30 and 15 days prior to departure will be subject to a penalty of 50% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancellations received less than 15 days prior to departure will be subject to relinquishment of the entire tour cost. African Adventure Tours strongly recommends trip cancellation insurance.

Responsibility and Liability:
African Adventure Tours acts as an agent of the client in dealing with hotel accommodation, sight seeing, tours and transports whether by aircraft, coach, boat, etc. and shall not be liable for loss, damage, delays, sicknesses, injury or death caused by these, except when the passenger is being carried in an African Adventure Tours vehicle. African Adventure Tours reserves the right to employ subcontractors to carry out all or part of the services agreed to. In this event African Adventure Tours should not be held responsible for loss, damage, delays, sickness, injury or death caused by these subcontractors.

African Adventure Tours will do its best to assist as an agent to its clients in dealing with third parties such as hotels, airlines and other transport companies and travel agents. However, it can not be held responsible for any loss or damage of baggage, photographic equipments, electronic equipments or other personal belongings caused by the third party.
